How to Dress Like Raggedy Ann for Halloween

Raggedy Ann, a rag doll is a famous character loved by many young and old. It was first created as a doll then introduced to the public in book, Ragged Ann Stories followed by TV series. Here is a step-by-step and easy to follow if you want to be Raggedy Ann for Halloween this year.

Things You'll Need
Tights or knee-length socks with red and white stripes
Blue dress with long sleeves
A white pinafore apron
A white bloomer
Red mop like wig
Black shoes
White Mitten
Ribbon, colour of your choice, preferably blue or white.
Makeup

Step
1. Put on the blue dress with long sleeve. If you can get one with floral or red polka-dots prints will be an added bonus. If you don't have a long sleeve blue dress, here is an option. Add a long sleeve blue t-shirt under a blue sleeveless dress. Another option is to shop at your local thrift shop and find the right dress you want.

2. Put on red and white striped tights or knee-length socks.

3. Put on your bloomers. If you can't find one make do with something that resembles like one. Example white short can be substitute and you can sew white calico lace to have the effect. The bloomers need to be longer than the dress.

4. Put on the white apron over the dress. Be sure that the apron is slightly shorter than the dress.

5. Fix your hair to look like Raggedy Ann's. You can wear a red mob-like wig, purchase at a thrift store or make one yourself. Get a mop-head and dye it red then turn it into a wig. Alternatively, dye your hair red with temporary hair colour spray. If you have long hair, wash and curl your hair. Then put on a blue or white ribbon to complete the look.

6. Do your makeup. Add some freckles, wide red smile, open eyes with mascara. For makeup tips watch the video below.

7. Put on the black shoes. Any black shoes are just fine.

8.  Put on the white mittens.

How to Make a Carnival Mask

Carnival is the funniest party of the of year! Let’s make together an amazing and original mask: using paper mache techniques, you can create almost anything. The best part is that you probably have everything you need to create paper mache masterpieces laying around your home right now.

    Things You'll Need

    • Newspapers
    • Glue
    • A balloon
    • A string
    • Water
    • A bowl

    Steps

    1. Tear the newspapers into strips (do not cut it). Dip them in a bowl with hot water and let macerate for at least one night.
    2. Let’s prepare the paper mache paste! Use regular glue mixed with a bit of water: mix using about 1 part water with 2 parts glue.
    3. Twist the newspapers and mix them with the paste.
    4. Blow up the balloon till you obtain a form matching your face shape. Stick the newspaper strip over the balloon, and smooth it down with your fingers till you completely cover your creation.
    5. After one layer is applied, let it dry about 24 hours. Add another layer of newspaper strips and let dry another 24 hours.
    6. Repeat this process until you get the desired effect, but you should have at least three layers.
    7. Let each layer dry completely before adding another and do not cover holes for eyes and nose.
    8. Pop the balloon and pull it out.
    9. And now, decorate! When the piece is dry, get out your paints or collage materials and get creative! You can use wool threads as moustaches and eyebrows. Be sure to let the paint dry before you give it a coat of clear gloss.

    Tips

    • The easiest way to work on the balloon is to work on an inverted bowl, by setting the balloon (knot side down) in a large yogurt container so it stays in one place.
    • Tempera paints will bleed into the gloss coat if you try to brush it on - use a spray gloss

How to Be Elly May (Beverly Hillbillies) for Halloween

Were you a fan of the show Beverly Hillbillies? Did you grow up watching Elly May Clampett take care of her critters? Then, this costume is perfect for you.

    Steps
    1. Put on a pair of tighter fitting jeans. Dark blue would be best, and snug at the waist. It is also perfect if they are a little highwaist.

    2. Put on a long-sleeved button up shirt and tuck it into your jeans. It is best if the shirt is snug (not too loose) and has some sort of strip or check pattern.

    3. Lace a piece of rope through the belt loop holes on your jeans and tie it in a knot in the front. Leave the ends loose and frayed.

    4. Pull the back of your hair into two low pigtails that drape over your shoulders and tie with pink ribbons. Leave the top part of your hair loose and curl it into ringlets. Hair spray and tease until you have a top poof. You may even curl your pigtails into large ringlets.

      • If you hair isn't long enough, or blonde, you can look into a wig or ponytail hair extensions.

    5. It is not necessary, but you can wear a cowboy hat pinned toward the back of your head. You don't want to cover up that poof you worked so hard on!

    6. Put on a pair of brown loafers or moccasin style shoes without socks.

    7. Even though Elly May was a country girl, she was still a beauty. Make sure to fill in your eyebrows and even apply fake eyelashes.

    8. You should now look like Elly May! Make any adjustments to the costume and go have fun!

    Tips

    • Put some a hay in your hair for a good effect. This may be a little uncomfortable for your head, it helps if you wear a wig.

    • Try an' have a southern accent.

    Shorts
    Combat boots
    Tank top
    Backpack
    Sunglasses

    Steps

    6. For extra awesomness, wear some black sunglasses.

(Go with the airsoft unless you want to shoot stuff. 2 Tomb Raider airsoft guns should run you about $40 a piece for ones that won't break easily.) If they look too real, however, keep in mind that they may not be permitted in places like convention centers. NEVER brandish fake weapons out of context.
    • Sometimes it can be hard to find things that you need. Try shopping online, in charity shops, on the highstreet and different places to try find what you need. If you find something that looks close to the real thing, buy it and edit it.
    • When you have assembled your outfit and it looks really good, make sure you take some great shots with it on! Try a variety of locations. For example, the woods or a rock face. Do some poses too!
    • If your struggling to find some things visit tombraidercosplay.com and click on "Prop Link Directory" and see if it's there.
    • Don't just be limited to the Angel of Darkness outfit! There are plenty of other outfits to cosplay. Visit tombraiderchronicles.com for reference photos.
    Warnings
    • Be careful when doing dangerous things.
    • Never point guns at anyone, this will get you in huge trouble and may get you invovled with the police.
    • Airsoft guns are not permitted at most major conventions. Non-Functioning firearms with clearly visible orange safety tips are generally the only exception to this rule.

How to Dress Up As a Sexy Kitten for Halloween

    Purr Fect Lady Sexy Costume

    Pink Cat Kitten Kitty Halloween

A sexy kitten is a classic Halloween costume. If you'd like to try it, here's how.

    Steps
    1. Dress in one color. Black works best, but white or other colours will do as well.
    2. Have your hair blown out or curled, just make sure it is down and well-groomed; a little wild is good too.
    3. Wear small kitten ears (purchased at a drug store near Halloween or a costume store/novelty shop year round).
    4. Wear darker eye makeup. Smokey eyes are always sexy. Give your eyeliner an outward swoop at the outer corners of your eyes to create a cat eye. Smudge some dark shadow on the inner corner of the eye.
    5. Paint on delicate whiskers using face paint or watercolor paints. It will look best if you only paint on a few in a white or white/pink shade.
    6. For your lips, anything goes. For a more dramatic look overall, sport a deep red hue. For a softer but still sexy look, line them in a rose pink, and apply a clear or pink-tinted gloss.
    7. Wear a black bra or tanktop.
    8. Wear black boy cut underwear, spandex mini-shorts, leather/latex short shorts, a black mini-skirt, or something along those lines.
    9. Wear black fishnets.
    10. Wear black stiletto heels. Knee high boots are good, but black pumps will work just as well.
    11. Don't forget your tail!
    Video

    Tips
Consider buying a ready-made costume in a costume shop, particularly if you want to look like a real cat.

    Warnings
You're going to freeze, so bring a jacket.

How to Be a Corpse Bride for Halloween

Corpse brides are the perfect thing for Halloween! However, you will need some originality to make your outfit extra special and Halloween friendly. This article will show you how to be a unique bride with a gruesome twist.

    Steps

    1. Make a story to go along with your bride, and sketch out ideas that go along with her story. This will keep your outfit cohesive, and it will also help you to pick out a dress. Ask yourself these questions:
    • Did she die in a forest or a bedroom?
    • What time period did she come from?
    • Was she rich or poor?
    2. Wear a long torn, tatty dress. A long, Gothic dress could work well. If you don't have one in your closet, look in a thrift shop; since you might be tattering it up, one with a stain will work fine. Don't spend a fortune on your dress unless you plan to wear it more than once. Keep in mind that you will be walking around all night, so a three foot train won't be such a good idea. Remember that brides usually wear white, but don't be limited to it. Go black for an extra-spooky look or choose a dirty faded color. Smudges and even fake blood can add a corpse bride look to any dress.

    3. Don't wear trainers, unless the dress covers them. You're best off going with boots or plain shoes. Heels aren't the best option for going trick-or-treating because you'll be walking around, so comfortable shoes are a must. If you have an old pair of shoes, you could even spray paint and distress them to match your dress. If your dress is mainly white, paint the train or bottom a decaying black colour, and add a blueish hue to the upper half with watercolour paints.

    4. Make up should add an extra dimension; either pale white facial powder or face paint would be perfect. If you have arms or neck exposed, powder them white to match your face. You might want to do this before you put on your dress to avoid getting powder all over your costume. Adding fake blood for effect would make a nice finish, and adding a black eye or some fake eyelashes is OK too. Keep in mind that it will be dark so you can overload your face with makeup without worrying. For your lips just paint the middle parts of them, leaving out the two sides.

    5. Do your hair; Do you want it to be long, short, black, blonde? Dye your hair if necessary, or buy a wig. If you want, mess your hair up or add twigs to make it look like you died violently in a forest. If your hair is dark/black (or if you temporarily dye it dark for halloween), try sprinkling white talcum powder into parts of it for a long-dead look.

    Video

    Tips
    • Add your own style to your outfit.
    • Remember to accommodate to the weather. You won't want to be walking around in a sleeveless dress if it's 5 degrees outside. Likewise, long sleeves in 40 degree weather won't work out so well either.
    • If you do wear white, remember to dirty it up!
    • If you want a more ghostly look, add a bit of light blue face paint. Cover your face with a thick layer of white powder, then add the blotches of face paint.
    • Make a bouquet of dead flowers. Brides hold flowers, she is a bride and has been dead, so the flowers would be dead too! Just go out and collect some dead flowers and long grass and tie them together then leave them for a few days to look really withered and old.
    • Also if you are styling your hair don't get where anything that smells nice as it will make you smell fresh not dead!

    Warnings
    • Be careful with the face-paint, it may smudge.
    • Apply makeup before putting on your dress or you run the risk of getting makeup on your dress.

How to Dress Like Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is not just a great Halloween costume but for any other costume party as well, but it's easy to see why it could be hard. Here's some ideas on how to get started.

    Steps

    1. Use dark blue liquid eye-liner to make a lightning-bolt tattoo on the right side of your face. Start with a triangle above your eyebrow an then continue right at the bottom of your eye.
      • Apply a lot of black eyeliner, but not so much that you look like a raccoon.
      • Put on a significant amount of silver eye shadow.
    2. Get a long, straight, platinum blonde wig.
      • Put the bangs flat across your forehead.
      • Take two lengthy pieces from the crown of the wig and make them oval-shaped loops. Pin down with bobby pins.
      • Take a piece of hair from the back of the wig and roll it in a roller. Pin down when it reached the point in between the loops. You should not see the roller.
      • Use mousse to make the loops of the bow stay up.
    3. The outfit is the hardest part. It may be easiest to wear a black leotard or a white dress with one strap. Most of Lady Gaga costumes/outfits are very crazy and unrealistic for the real world, thats why it is suggested that you go with a Lady Gaga costume when she first came out, from her just dance video, a lose blouse that goes below your waist and bright tights that can be found at any accessories store, a black fedora, she dosen't wear it much but at one point it was a signature look.
    4. Black chunky heels work great. You could aslo get away with wearing crazy hightops in bright clours are also very Gaga.

    Tips

If you have light blond hair you could use your own hair. It may end up not as great as you might think after your done though.

    Things You'll Need

    • Blue liquid eyeliner
    • Black eyeliner
    • Hair mousse
    • Blonde wig
